HOFS Consulting Announces New Division, HOFS Environmental

HOFS Consulting is proud to announce its newest addition to the company, HOFS Environmental, a division specifically focused on improving air quality, by actively helping oil and gas companies—as well as other industries—to transition towards more sustainable, greener energy systems. This new endeavor will initially roll out to the greater Houston area and then expand nationwide, with ambitious goals to apply cutting-edge technology for the monitoring, detection, and remediation of toxin leaks into the atmosphere; thus, reducing the greenhouse effect.

Juan N. Velasco, founder of the HOFS family of engineering businesses dedicated to “Helping Others Find Solutions,” believes it is possible to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by the middle of this century, if not sooner. He plans to join forces with oil and gas companies who share this objective and work towards the prevention and eventual elimination of 50+ harmful chemical gases (e.g. methane, ozone, sulfur, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds, and nitrogen oxides) from escaping into the air.  Mr. Velasco speaks passionately of his vision, "Based on thorough research by leading scientists around the world, I foresee that net-zero emissions in the world are possible to achieve over the next 20-30 years if we work together to reverse the degradation of our biosphere. As the pandemic has taught us, we are all indeed in this together!"

HOFS Environmental is staffed with engineers who perform onsite inspections to assess the needs of each client facility, and then recommend the best air-quality monitoring equipment for that location based on precise measurements and analysis. Velasco says, “Companies might want to measure their own air quality, which they can do using handheld or stationary equipment that we provide. Or, they can leverage our advanced technology offerings, consisting of drone-mounted laboratory services that fly above ground collecting and analyzing emissions data in real time.”

HOFS Environmental understands that every company has its own timetable for adopting digital transformation, and in particular, how it relates to air quality. That is why he and his team prepare a customized plan for detecting and monitoring noxious gases, using the right equipment for the job. Regardless of the approach, clients avoid costs associated with regulatory non-compliance, while also doing the right thing for the planet.

In addition to formal training as an engineer, Mr. Velasco has studied Artificial Intelligence, (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR), and Machine Learning (ML), so he is ready to meet the technology challenges of the day and the requirements of tomorrow. He also trained to receive a Remote Pilot Certification for a Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) from the FAA, making him qualified to operate drones.

HOFS Consulting, LLC was launched ten years ago to offer specialized business services focused on Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, and Leadership. The firm’s large capital projects have included partnering with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies and major national oil companies (NOCs) located in Latin America.
