An Excerpt:
CHAPTER I
It was a hell of a lot cozier inside the pool hall on the corner of 6th Avenue North and Lyndale than the snowstorm that was raging outside. Minneapolis can be one cold bitch of a city in January. At the snooker table chalking up his cue, a cigarette dangling from his lips, is a short, tough looking 17-year-old listening to his friend singing, “Happy birthday to you”. Just that day, he had given himself a birthday present by dropping out of school and here he was, doing what he loved -- playing pool.
